I consider myself to be a bit of a free-thinker. I never went to university but did attend college where I learned how to be a cartographer. I worked in a cartographic organization for most of my adult life. It was a good choice for me. As a young fellow I was very interested in the explorers - particularly Champlain since he was one of the first Europeans to explore my part of Canada. He was, amongst other things, a cartographer. It was part of what led me to chose that path in life. History, geography, distant places are things that capture my imagination.
