Dia de los Muertos altar (like Coco)

Did you see Coco? Well here is a real dia de los muertos altar. On November 1st and 2nd Mexicans observe Dia de los Muertos, the Day of the Dead. It is a time of prayer and reflection, but also celebration and remembering loved ones. It is a combination of Aztec and Roman Catholic tradition, though not everyone who puts up an altar is religious. Some people believe the spirits of the dead come to visit that night, so we welcome them with their favorite foods and items they loved in life. Traditional elements, like marigolds (cempasuchitls), pan de muerto, and calaveras (sugar skulls) also go on the table. On the morning of the third of November, we take down the altar and eat the food, sharing with our loved ones who are still with us.
