Ethiopian calendar !

The Ethiopian calendar is pretty unique! It has 13 months instead of the usual 12. There are 12 months with 30 days each, and then there's an extra month called Pagumē, which has either 5 or 6 days depending on whether it's a leap year. The Ethiopian calendar is about 7-8 years behind the Gregorian calendar, which is the one most of the world uses. So, for example, while it’s 2024 in the Gregorian calendar, it’s 2016 or 2017 in Ethiopia. This difference comes from how they calculate the birth of Jesus. It's also tied closely to the Ethiopian Orthodox Church and has its own holidays and celebrations
