Kebaya, Indonesia's National Costume
Kebaya is the national costume of Indonesia, worn by women. Modern Kebaya is combination of blouse and dress in traditional pattern and can be used in every formal ocassion and casual activity. Women with kebaya can be found anyhwhere, from the state palace, government institution, wedding ceremony, worship place, graduation party, school, ballroom, home, and even on the street and public transportation. Casual kebaya made from cotton fabrics. The formal one made by sheer material such as silk, thin cotton, semi transparent nylon or polyester, with brocade and lace embroidery. Kebaya usually worn with a sarong, batik, tenun ikat, or songket.
