Route 66 in Atlanta Illinois

My hometown of Atlanta, IL is a tiny town known for being a tourist stop for people traveling along Route 66. In July 2023, we opened our American Giants Museum which features many fiberglass giant statues from the 1950’s and 1960’s. A lot of these figures stood at various gas stations and restaurants over the years, but have since been restored to be displayed at our museum. I’ve heard from a few Route 66 travelers that they love how America preserves their history. We have a lot of historical buildings, monuments, and even artifacts in various museums around the US. Where you come from, or your “roots” are something to be embraced and not forgotten here in the states.
