Den Pobedy (Victory Day)

On the 9th of May Russians commemorate the victory of the Soviet Union over Nazi Germany in the Great Patriotic War. It is a bittersweet day of celebrating life and freedom but also a day to remember at what cost the USSR gained the victory. A day to remember those who went to the War and never came back. The parades are held all over the country with a main parade on the Red Square in Moscow of course. People visit the graves of their relatives who died during the War.
