Nazar Hanging

Nazar means “to look” in Turkish, usually used in a negative context. This negative type of looking can be complimenting someone a lot or jealousy. In our culture, it is believed that the universe will find a way to *balance out the beauty in things* These actions are believed to bring something bad upon the person that is being praised, so we Turks hang this blue bead on places, people and things we love. The nazar bead protects them from nazar and prevents those bad things from happening.
